It is very advantageous to setup multiple factors for Multifactor Authentication (MFA). If you ONLY have SMS setup and texting services are unavailable, you will not be able to login. If you have other options for MFA, you can choose those during the login process (see HOWTO - Login to Okta for details) as needed.
To setup additional factors, login to the Laker Login Portal. In the upper right click your name and select Settings.
In the upper right of the Settings page, click the Edit Profile button:
Verify your password (this protects your settings). On the next page, scroll down to the bottom of the right column to Extra Verification and click the Set up button the the additional factors, following the instructions on screen.
Once setup, you will have the choice of different MFA options during your login process.
