Is my Chromebook compatible with respondus?

Search the make and model of your chromebook to see if it is still eligible to receive updates.

Some Chromebooks in stores may have been sitting there for some timeetime so check to see how old it is and how long it can get updates.

Respondus will only work if the chromebook is up to date of software patches.

this is an example of a chromebook that is too old

It seems that your Lenovo S330 Chromebook is no longer receiving regular software updates.
Here's why:
  • End of Development Support: Lenovo has stated that the S330 Chromebook is no longer actively supported by their development team, meaning no further software updates will be provided.
  • Auto Update Expiration (AUE): While originally the S330 had an AUE date of July 2022, there was an extension option to receive updates until at least June 2023. This indicates it's likely beyond its update support window.
  • Older Hardware: Chromebooks with older hardware eventually lose the ability to receive the latest updates, especially those released before 2021.
What you can do:
  • Check the AUE: Go to your Chromebook's settings: SettingsAbout ChromeOSAdditional detailsUpdate schedule. This will show you when your specific device received its last update.
  • Understand implications: While your Chromebook will still function, you won't receive new features or security patches, which could increase your risk of vulnerabilities over time.
  • Consider upgrading: If updates and security are crucial, you might want to consider upgrading to a newer Chromebook, especially since Google has extended support to 10 years for devices released in 2021 or later.
